Exciting Things Are Happening at the Virgil Community Living Center!

We are very excited to introduce a new page on our website - our very own blog! This will allow us to keep everyone updated on the many activities, events, and opportunities happening at the Virgil Community Living Center.

You may be asking yourself, “What is a Community Center for?” The answer is simple: our Center is a place for community, learning, wellness, recreation, and fun for all ages!

Annual Car, Truck, Tractor & Motorcycle Show

On August 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., we will hold our annual Car, Truck, Tractor, and Motorcycle Show.

This event continues to grow every year and features:

  • Classic and unique vehicles

  • Local crafters and vendors

  • Live music by Dan Frost

  • Chicken dinners provided by Cortland Koei-Kan Karate

  • Baked goods and chocolate bars from the Second Chance Winterguard group

First Annual Farm Show

On August 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., we will host our very first Farm Show.

Many community members fondly remember events such as Empire Farm Days. While we may not have the same acreage available, we hope to bring that same enthusiasm, educational opportunity, and agricultural spirit to our local community.

We are inviting businesses from across New York State to showcase products, services, and innovations that support farmers and agricultural producers.

We also hope to give young people an opportunity to showcase the hard work they do through organizations such as:

  • 4-H

  • National FFA Organization

Students invest countless hours preparing animals, agricultural projects, arts, and crafts for fairs and exhibitions, and we are excited to provide another venue where they can proudly display their accomplishments.

In partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension and local FFA programs, we are also reaching out to agricultural businesses to highlight the latest innovations in the agriculture industry.

Community Yard Sales

August will also be busy as we participate in the annual Virgil Community Yard Sales! Last year’s event was a tremendous success and a lot of fun for everyone involved. More details about the Community-Wide Yard Sales will be coming soon.

We hope you will join us for the many exciting activities happening at the Virgil Community Living Center. There truly is something for everyone, and we are proud to continue building a welcoming place for our entire community.
